Remember That 'Will & Grace' Finale? They Want You To Forget It Happened

I'm not sure how I feel about this.....

When the 'Will & Grace' revival was announced, fans of the classic sitcom wondered how the show would address the 2006 series finale.

In case you had forgotten, the series jumped into the future with both W&G having kids, and both married to Vince and Leo. The series then jumped AGAIN, and their two children met at college and began dating, and then married.

Well, when the new series kicks off September 28th, our beloved best friends will be single (and ready to mingle) and....

No kids.

Creators Max Mutchnick and David Kohan explained why they're "forgetting" the finale:

Max said:

“We spent most of our time trying to figure out what would be the way to make the show the best version of itself coming back after 11 years,”

“That finale really caused us a lot of grief. You write a finale because a show is over. You never think that it’s coming back again.”

With David adding:

“When the decision was made to bring the series back, we were like, well, we left them with kids, right?”

“And if they have children, then it has to be about them being parents, ‘cause presumably it would be a priority in their lives. And if it wasn’t a priority in their lives, then they’re still parents, they’re just bad parents, right? We frankly did not want to see them being either good parents or bad parents. We wanted them to be Will and Grace.”

The same switch up happens for Jack and Karen.

In the finale, the two were living together with Rosario, but in the revival, Karen will be back in her mansion and Jack will live across the hall from Will.

Thoughts?
