Oscar Winner Daniel Day-Lewis Announces Retirement: Read His Statement HERE

Well, 3 Oscars later, I think he's earned it.

Oscar winning actor Daniel Day-Lewis announced today that he is retiring from the business, his rep confirmed.

In a statement, the rep says:

“Daniel Day-Lewis will no longer be working as an actor. He is immensely grateful to all of his collaborators and audiences over the many years. This is a private decision and neither he nor his representatives will make any further comment on this subject,”

Over the course of his career, the 60 year old won 3 Oscars for her performances in 'There Will Be Blood', 'My Left Foot' and 'Lincoln'. He was also nominated for 'Gangs of New York' and 'In The Name of the Father'.

His final film, 'Phantom Thread' will hit theaters this December.
