Miles tweets that he WASN'T arrested this weekend. Read the tweets below:
Went down to SD to see my buddy before he deployed. I wasn't arrested I was detained bc there was no evidence to charge me with a crime.— Miles Teller (@Miles_Teller) June 19, 2017
Don't believe everything you read, especially from a third party entertainment news source trying to get clicks. Appreciate the concern.— Miles Teller (@Miles_Teller) June 19, 2017
Miles, what did you do!?
Actor Miles Teller was arrested very early Sunday morning, after not cooperating with police.
The 'Divergent' star was partying with friends in San Diego, when a passing officer noticed Miles was having a hard time standing up. When the officer approached Miles to check on him, the actor reportedly became uncooperative.
According to reports, at one point Miles nearly fell off the sidewalk into oncoming traffic. The attending officer then handcuffed him.
Here's where things turned.
Due to San Diego law, there is a detox program where cops will take someone who is drunk to. The program is run by volunteers. When the officer offered to take Miles to the center, the actor refused to go. It's at this point, due to public drunkenness, Miles COULD have been arrested. However, the officer didn't place him under arrest, and decided to try and take him to the center anyways.
When they arrived, Miles fought against the volunteer staff, refusing to abide by the rules. The staff then rejected him, and he was then placed under arrest for public drunkenness, which is a misdemeanor. He was jailed for 4 hours before being released without bail.
His rep hasn't responded to the story yet.
