Tiger Woods Releases Statement Following Arrest: Claims Mix Of Medications NOT Alcohol

Well, this is interesting.

Early this morning, Tiger Woods was arrested on the suspicion of DUI in Jupiter, Florida. As the day unfolded, more information came to light.

According to the early report, cops pulled Woods over after he was spotted driving erratically, and when they did, one officer smelled alcohol on Woods' breath. At this point, cops say Woods became arrogant and even refused a breathalyzer. By Florida state law, that's grounds for immediate arrest and license suspension.

Now, just a few hours ago, Woods has released a statement claiming he was NOT drinking, but it was a mix of prescription pills:

"I understand the severity of what I did and I take full responsibility for my actions.  I want the public to know that alcohol was not involved.  What happened was an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications.  I didn't realize the mix of medications affected me so strongly."

"I would like to apologize with all my heart to my family, friends, and the fans.  I expect more from myself, too.  I will do everything in my power to ensure this never happens again.
I fully cooperated with law enforcement, and I would like to personally thank the representatives of the Jupiter Police Dept. and the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office for their professionalism."
