Katy Perry Makes Jokes About Mental Health And Britney Spears' Breakdown

It wasn't a slip once.

Last night on the Grammys red carpet, Katy Perry took two different jabs at Britney Spears and her mental health, referencing her very public breakdown in 2007.

When speaking with Ryan Seacrest, Katy was asked by Ryan Seacrest about taking a break between recording albums and this is how she responded:

Some are defending Katy's words, saying she was simply making a joke and it wasn't about Britney.

Here's the thing. When one of the biggest pop stars in the world suffers a very publicized mental breakdown in front of the paparazzi, resulting in shaving her head, there's absolutely no way in HELL Katy wasn't referencing her. But could it have been just poor choice of words?

Let's just say maybe for the sake of it:

Following that, Katy was interviews by CBS and once again cracked the lovely gem about the fact that she hadn't shaved her head yet due to a meltdown.

Okay, so here it is.

This woman has been in a very public feud with Taylor Swift over the years, tweeting the now infamous "watch out for the Regina George in sheeps clothing", and has long stated that she's an advocate for women.

So, on a very public stage.....during musics biggest night....

You're going to take disgusting swipes at Britney Spears? You're going to make jokes about mental health?

I'm a fan of Katy's new single 'Chained to The Rhythm'. That doesn't change. Heard catalogue is good.

But this isn't about the music.

To Katy I say this:

Scarlett Johansson DROPS OUT Of Transgender Film: Releases New Statement

The public outcry/backlash was enough.

Scarlett Johansson has officially dropped out of upcoming film "Rub & Tug", which is based on the life of transgender man Dante 'Tex' Gill.

Scarlett issued a statement through OUT Magazine:

"In light of recent ethical questions raised surrounding my casting as Dante Tex Gill, I have decided to respectfully withdraw my participation in the project. Our cultural understanding of transgender people continues to advance, and I’ve learned a lot from the community since making my first statement about my casting and realize it was insensitive. I have great admiration and love for the trans community and am grateful that the conversation regarding inclusivity in Hollywood continues. According to GLAAD, LGBTQ+ characters dropped 40% in 2017 from the previous year, with no representation of trans characters in any major studio release. While I would have loved the opportunity to bring Dante’s story and transition to life, I under…

"I stand before you as a doormat. Oh, I mean, as a female entertainer," Madonna said. "Thank you for acknowledging my ability to continue my career for 34 years in the face of blatant sexism and misogyny and constant bullying and relentless abuse."

Recalling her life as a teenager when she first moved to New York:

"People were dying of AIDS everywhere. It wasn’t safe to be gay, it wasn’t cool to be associated with the gay community," Madonna recalled. "It was …
