Dr. Phil Faces Backlash Over Shelley Duvall Interview

And one of those calling for a boycott?

Stanley Kubrick's daughter!!

Dr. Phil is scheduled to air his interview with 'The Shining' star Shelley Duvall tomorrow on his show, speaking to the actress about her mental health.

In clips of the interview, Shelley explains to Phil that she is "very sick" and that she also believes her former 'Popeye' co-star Robin Williams is still alive. What comes most shocking however, is her appearance now. She's completely unrecognizable.

Vivian Kubrick, famed director Stanley's daughter, is speaking out against Phil and the interview, calling for a boycott.

As of right now, Phil hasn't responded to the backlash, and the interview will air tomorrow.

Penning a letter to the host, Vivian said:

You are putting Shelley Duvall ‘on show’ while she is suffering from a pitiable state of ill health. Unquestionably, this is purely a form of lurid and exploitive entertainment — it’s appallingly cruel.
Shelley Duvall was a movie star … whatever dignity a mere unfortunate creature might have in this world, is denied by your displaying her in this way.
I recoil in complete disgust. I hope others will join me in boycotting your utterly heartless form of entertainment, because it has nothing to do with compassionate healing.
Sincerely disgusted, Vivian
