This Is Just THE WORST: Avril Lavigne Debuts Video For "Hello Kitty" & Responds To Backlash

I don't even know what to say.

No wait, I do:

WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO MY BELOVED "COMPLICATED" AND "SK8ER BOI" SINGER!?!?

There.

Avril Lavigne has come under fire for her brand new video "Hello Kitty", which Billboard is calling a "trainwreck" for its "Japan fetishization".

Uh, let's just stick with RACIST.

I'm really not sure what the goal of this was but it's just the WORST.

Apparently, fans of the singer thought so too though, with one tweet coming in saying:

"Not sure if this Avril Lavigne video is terrible, racist, or terribly racist,"

And another:

"I'm not sure which makes it harder to watch the new Avril video: that it's offensive and racist or just weird."

Avril sounded off on the haters though:

"RACIST??? LOLOLOL!!! I love Japanese culture and I spend half of my time in Japan. I flew to Tokyo to shoot this video...specifically for my Japanese fans, WITH my Japanese label, Japanese choreographers AND a Japanese director IN Japan."

What do you guys think of the video? Check it out below (and I'm sorry in advance for asking you to watch it).
